News - Digital Exchange accelerates antibody testing for Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

The NHS Digital Exchange is an online library that facilitates the sharing of automations and collaboration between healthcare organisations.

The COVID Staff Antibody Testing Bots that were deployed at East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Foundation Trust last month have successfully processed over 11,000 order requests saving 1000s of hours for our hardworking NHS staff.

NHS organisations across the whole country face the same challenge. So when our friends at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) reached out for help, in the spirit of sharing, it was my mission to do what I could to help.

NNUH are customers of Blue Prism Cloud and currently building their first automated process, so it was a no-brainer to deploy our code onto the NNUH platform. Having reviewed the order request process, it was apparent that it was not just a simple case of replicating an exact copy of ESNEFT's code.

The beauty of the NHS Digital Exchange is we try to develop in a modular form using Blue Prism best practice standards. This means that any competent blue prism developer can take the parts of our process that apply and enhance the process and objects to meet their exact needs.

The bots officially launched today and are now processing staff requests.

With this project, it was so exciting to experience the benefits of the NHS Digital Exchange personally and to see how it could deliver a massive advantage to another NHS Trust with little effort.
